Nicholas Heide - New York Airfield Technician

Based in New York, Nicholas “Nick” Heide is a senior field service technician whose work supports air-to-ground communications between pilots and air traffic control ground facilities. In this role, Nicholas Heide installs, tests, maintains, and repairs radio, VoIP, network-server, and antenna systems.

Nick Heide also serves in the Air National Guard, where he previously worked as an HC-130 crew chief and flightline supervisor. His maintenance background includes mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine, and avionics systems, along with aircraft launch, recovery, and ground operations. He was deployed to Kuwait in 2019 and has held a private pilot certificate since 2014.

Outside of his technical work and National Guard service, Mr. Heide is an emerging artist whose abstract pieces were included in the Belle Terre Community Association Art Exhibit in 2024. In addition, physical fitness is a regular part of his routine. He also rides and rebuilds Ducati motorcycles. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut in 2019.
